                                                   Ask Irene-Bullying

Dear Irene,
A kid at school is bullying and harassing me.Every day after school, he taunts, shoves, and ridicules me.  I threatened to tell someone yesterday, and he pushed me and told me if I ever told anyone, he would make sure my death looked like an accident. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Tired of Being Pushed Around

Dear Tired of Being Pushed Around,
Kids like these most likely come from broken, abusive, or neglecting families. They try to push their worries away by creating new ones for other people. Other people's pain fuels them. No matter what this kid says, you should definitely tell an adult. If you tell your mother, father, older sibling, or counselor in a private place, he will never know. Don't be afraid of him. His threat to kill you most likely resulted because he's scared of the consequences. Don't fight back, it's what he wants. So quickly tell an adult in a private place, and just specify you want to remain anonymous. Soon you will rest in peace:P

No-

Yes-

Dear Irene,
I know a kid in my class who is kind of a nerd. He has thick glasses, ugly braces, and wears little-kid clothes. Everyone except for me makes fun of him. I don't say anything to him. My group of friends all tease him and say really rude things to him. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, because I never say anything. But recently, I noticed he avoids me too and I'm doubting whether I'm doing anything wrong. Is just watching bad too?
Sincerely,
Bystander Forever

Dear Bystander Forever,
Yes, you are doing something wrong. A bystander is just as bad as a bully. My advice to you is stop putting up with it. Tell an adult. You can make it anonymous if your afraid of what your friends will say. Don't be embarrassed. Don't be a bystander.

Hey everyone!

Hey everyone!
Actually, I'm not sure what exactly I mean by everyone......its probably just me and some bored middle-aged adult flipping through random blogs and happened to stop at mine. But if you ARE the latter, wait! Don't click "Next Blog" because this may be the right blog for YOU. Haha, sounds so corny right?\

Well anyway, I'm going to introduce my self again for,um, those people who don't know me or simply those who have short term memory. Which reminds me of something I learned today, a disease called prosopagnosia. But more on THAT later.
What was I talking about? Oh,yeah, me.

Hmm.

Oh yeah! Prosopagnosia!

OK, so I was reading my new really thick VOGUE today(its their 120th anniversary FYI, just thought I'd put that out there) and I stumbled on an article by a woman who has prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness. This really was an interesting article.
Face blindness proves eyes can't do everything. It is where even though your eyesight is fine(maybe even 20/20) but you have an inability to use facial features to identify people. Like, have you ever been approached by someone you don't recognize who goes "Nice to see you again!"in a British accent and THEN you realize its your British friend Samantha? Or do people's faces look fuzzy to you? That could mean you have prosopagnosia.
